I open my eyes
She knows I'm awake
As she stretches on my bed.
Crawling up to greet me
Then pouncing on my head.
I look into her trusting eyes
Her happiness shines through
I get an overwhelming feeling
as she snuggles in so close.
Her love for me so true and pure
Asking for nothing in return.
She lays her paws upon my face
Her tail is wagging fast.
She is growing up so quickly
Yet her love has never changed.
I feel so lucky waking up
Feeling her happiness because of me.
I created a bond of love and trust
And that's exactly what I'll do.
Love her for the way she is
As long as I shall live.
