Once

by Ray Blue   Jul 12, 2012

Our love is like a rose,
Thriving in beauty and sacrifice

If once in time,
Dream of you and I
Naive and shy,
Hard to get through
Going on without you
Tell me why it's hard to forget,
When hearts being left always at the sunset
If love is entwine,
So shine a light
For you going back in time,
And here in the light you shine

The years had taught us,
That only love will last

If this rain will clear
Will you dry these tears?
And here in the darkest hour,
The flower will find
She is loved and not alone anymore

And she found love above the clouds,
If once this dream is so true
My heart is rejoicing
Now that your heart found
The happiness as I see through,
The light of your smile
These sweetest leaves of time
Once if the love was only mine,
Once upon a time.

2009.

    You have a tender soul,

    "The flower will find
She is loved and not alone anymore"

    - My favorite line. Always so gentle in your writing, and such a unique and sweet way of expressing yourself. I feel like I could really relate to this write - that doesn't often happen. It moved me. 5/5

Roses are indeed beautiful. Beautiful to look at but hard to reach them for they are protected by those thorns.

Its like you have given the rose a character where she thrives in a beauty of loneliness, where her beauty is a sacrifice that is untouched and left alone; and you put yourself as her admirer by waiting patiently to have her. Not sure if that made any sense to you but that is the picture I got from reading this :)
    Nicely penned!
