For Trust

by Poet on the Piano   Jul 14, 2012

Trust;
the unfolding of wings
on a day where suffocation
seems like it will let up,
only when the heart
is mechanized

to stow away
emotion.

But Jesus,
I know to live
like You always
did,
I must not hide.

Let others find
Your face
in what You whisper
for me to muse
about, in dreams
well dusted
from fear.

I've been denying
Your love, Your presence
within me for too long,
please give me courage
to be strong,
and not fall,

to not let the tempest
swap my heart
for apathy,

to believe You are all,
the one I must humble
myself before,
confess all my troubles,

every part of who I think
I am.

You are only goodness,
hope, breaths that have
never been away.

I must realize
You have shouted a
million different times
"You are mine".

And I will pray
for trust.

Congrats on posting poem # 1000 MaryAnne:)

I can feel your inner doubts by reading the words in this poem and it's understandable. Once you leave the child-phase behind it becomes harder to trust and love unconditionally..yet God does deserve this kind of attention from us, because we are a part of Him..inseperable and everlasting. All we send to Him will be returned thousandfold.

So nice to always see you share your life and thoughts on here, MaryAnne:)

    Well done,

    5/5 Ingrid
