Dark Circles

by Maple Tree   Jul 16, 2012

Ageing patterns scream
obscenities within ebony rings,
suffocating hazel iris's.

Squelching the life of sunshine
as mascaraing stars fade slowly,
these eyes whisper goodbye.

I have dark circles around my eyes right now actually but that's because I need more sleep.

I love it hun, great images but it is quite sad actually. Does your hubby have dark rings around his eyes at the moment?

Dark circles, I used to think that dark circles became dark circles because one didn't get enough sleep, but turns out that it can also be for getting too much. Or for other reasons such as aging is one. No wonder, young and adults have dark circles. Too many reasons.

    Squelching also caught my attention.

This is excellent. I love the word " squelching" lol. Don't think I have seen that being used in a poem before.

The word suffocating really stands out to me and expresses great power.

    Good work.
