The First Time We Met

by Kitty Kurse   Jul 16, 2012

The first time we met-
I shared glances with you, Couldn't help but smile.
Right then and there I felt some kind of deep connection when I gazed into your eyes, the way you made my heart beat;
Made my palms sweaty.

Passionate fire set ablaze far into my soul;
You capture me from inside and I feel you.
Warm tender kisses, your sweet touches.

You swooped in, swept me off my feet
Held me higher than above,
Made it possible to touch the sun ever since-
The first time we met.

Dried roses, we dance a wonderful lullaby;
One that keeps a warming smile on my face,
In my dreams.

From what once was;
Nothing more than a waiting,
I waited for someone like you to save me before being suffocated by my anguished pain that made me dreary,
Weary that no one could save my vanishing sanity.
That is until-
The first time we met.

And with allowing me to love you and be loved,
I was swept off my feet.
Quite a surprise,
You were my Prince in shining armor.
I never knew that I could fall so in love with somebody.
I did not realize I had found my perfect match-
The first time we met.

    Very nice work :) I loved the way you used metaphores in your writing to show your thoughts

    My favorite lines: Passionate fire set ablaze far into my soul;
    Dried roses, we dance a wonderful lullaby;
    anguished pain that made me dreary,
    Weary that no one could save my vanishing sanity

    The title made me think about "love at first sight" but this one is about from the first time we met we, It was love.

    It's well written, and for an instance, the poem to me sounded like a song. It's sweet.
