A girl in pain

by Midnight Vanity   Jul 17, 2012

Cold wind blowing
Water flowing below
On the edge of a ledge
Stands a girl everyone thought they knew
All they ever knew about her was her name
Because of the taunting
The laughing
She changed her look
She paints her eyes and lips black
Died her hair black
Dressed in black clothes
If they called her a s l u t
She was gonna dress the part
Skirts too short
Fishnets
She felt hot
for the first time ever in her life
Then things got worse
She started cutting
And burning
There were scars and burn marks all over her skin
She hated herself
She barely ate
They called her fat
she was so thin
Her spine and ribs were showing
They all laughed
Thinking about all that on the edge of that ledge
She knew her life wasn't worth living
A breath wasn't worth taking
She jumped

Pain comes to widen reasoning. At the verge of pain, lessons come. Lesson learned, saves a future blame. But wheat ferments, for a good brew. From tears of agony, gems rise. Against all odds, victory abounds.
