This 3 liner begins like a senryu with the 5 ct syllables in the first line...second line is short at least 1 syllable, maybe two depending on how many syllables are in mathematics, and the third line is 4 syllables
But I think this was done intentionally to go along with the words in this short piece IDK

I think that it's either about someone who has insomnia or as Xanthe said, an obsession. Maybe they are counting to try to sleep...
