I Want the Sun

by Blood of a Lion   Jul 22, 2012

Our hearts and fears were made to fade throughout creation,
Our sight still remains on a cup of exultation,
We breathe and so turn,
Praying the world notices our expiration,
Darkness tends to fade at morning bright, but it still breathes its hate unto our faces,
It smiles and turns away,
Leaving us to think of nothing but pain and distressing,

Our heart starts to fade,
But there's no time for relaxation,
Only time for misery and damnable frustration,

Rain drops on a shoulder bring back the sweetest of mistakes,
You try and recall, but the silence is no mistake,
No phone call and no musing, it was just one big mistake,
But when the dream begins to fade through this creation, we sit and we pray, and say goodbye to this vexation.

Leaving us to think of nothing but pain and distressing,

^ I think it should be distress since pain is a noun and distressing would be a verb?
so there needs to be some parallelism .. I believe that's what they call it.

I think you love the word musing.
This piece is pretty good. I like how you write.

An old thing that I wrote felt like it fit for our day.
