Dual Construction

by Thomas   Jul 23, 2012

Construction is my passion
No way of denying
To salvage everything in you
that is dying

Inserting pillars
under your shaky foundations
Being there for you
even in shaky situations

I build you up
while I crumble inside
I'm going nowhere
I'm here for the ride

So call me
a builder of empires
The enhancer
of your inner desires

But your completion
I will never witness
By the end of the day
I will be sacked and homeless

The rhyming was awesome, not forced, just flowed naturally. I love this piece!

People who know me and my writing can tell you I'm not a fan of rhyming poetry, however I've been liking your writes.

    So call me
    a builder of empires
    The enhancer
    of your inner desires

^ you always put in your stanzas that are always so interesting, so uniquely written that makes me really like the over all poem.

    Nicely done Thomas

    Nice piece, Thomas.

We put up a front sometimes, acting like everything is okay and trying to help others and do our job, etc... yet we can't fix ourselves, we are crumbling on the inside. Like the old saying goes "you cannot judge a book by it's cover" ... the outside may be pretty but the inside can be falling apart.

You captured a lot of emotion and depth in this.

    Keep writing :)

This is one interesting piece Thomas
but so well written with honesty and
emotions. If only we knew how many
people go to their job on a daily basis
and towards the end of the day, they have
    no where to go.
