In My Mind,

by Daphne Darling   Jun 29, 2004

Written at the cross section,
The words that make no sense,
Remembering all that sorrow,
Just watch me crash and burn,

Falling from the top,
Crashing through the lies,
Watch me now all of you,
Watch me crash and burn,
Can you not see it all?
I am crashing down through the lies,
When I reach the bottom,
Then I shall burn crashed,

Fluid movements no longer,
Jerked from high up above,
The angels shall fall down,
One by one they lose the will,
Dropping down from the heavens,
Dead stones on the gravelled walkway,

While on and on in my mind,
I see what is to come,
If I do not escape the torture,
Of what this reality brings me,

Dropping to the sands of time,
As slowly they slip on by,
As the one true thought breaks free,
Trusting the lies through the truth,
Killing the loved possessions,
The ones the child despises,
Giving up this reality for the next,

Watching the silver light draw near,
Watching the crimson river flow loose,
Pouring my whole life into words,
Words to deceive the unsuspecting victim,
That walks over the bridge of the river,
Walking through the crimson slush,
Bank to bank, the river flows free,

Confusion set free of its bounds,
Set loose on the unsuspecting crowd,
That waits outside the doors of reality,
Making the screams sound like laughter,

As the vile closes their eyes,
They kill of their own offspring,
Laughing all the while,
As the hate rises within the youth,
Back falls the curtains of lies,
Revealing the truth hidden deep within,

Whistling the song of sadness,
Across the channel crosses,
A cloud of pure darkness,
Making the hatred march right in front,
I'll stand strong for as long as I can,
But in the end you will have to watch me,

Watch me.....
Watch me as I crash and burn,
Falling from the very top,
Watch me as I crash and burn.
