The Tempest:The Calm Before the Storm

by Marquesas   Jul 26, 2012

I stand outside, the sun beams on me
A breeze goes through me
A few clouds float happily
I am content, satisfied
Yet I can't shake this feeling
That something is coming
Something hidden in the warming sun
Words unspoken by the air
A secret kept by the clouds
I turn and see her the woman I love
She is looking at me with those beautiful eyes
Long flowing hair, luscious lips turned to a smile
But I can sense something in her
Her smile fades, her eyes turn cold
It scares me
Realizing something is wrong
The sky turns dark,
The sun disappearing behind the clouds
Black with a cold rage
The breeze now a brutal gale
Shaking, the tempest has arrived

    Love it!

Ok, so I like how everything starts out all soft and airy and beautiful. Talking about the clouds and the sun. Then, the twist. You make each aspect devious in its own way and it is a real attention grabber.
Not only that, the image given when you read this is creepy yet intriguing at the same time.
