Bad GPS

by Thomas   Jul 29, 2012

My friend, you are not
but for sarcasms sake
I will call you that
to underline the resentment I had

Trust I won't give you
You blew up your chance
for that privilege
Like Al Qaeda
blew up the WTC

But what I will do
is entrust you with some knowledge
Something to keep
in the back of your mind

Trust me my friend,
you can't end me
Only I can
Trust me my enemy,
you will not end me
Only I will

For I define
the path I will take
I think that's normal
since there is so much at stake

And this is how it will be
cause you're a bad GPS
You will only take me to places
I don't want to be

This is a really great poem with a strong message. It can be taken in many ways. It can be read as a friends judgement on you and leading you astray from who you are and where you want to go in life. It can also be seen as a conversation you are having with a different side of yourself. Like maybe a bad habit you have or even an illness that tries to control you and end you and it is like a battle between itself and you.

There is a lot that can be taken from this, I really like it. x

I see a lot of resentment in this write.
    There is an old saying
"Keep your friends close, but you keep
    your enemies much closer"
Never ever let others defeat you
