The Shallow Heart

by Beautiful Chaos   Aug 1, 2012

It melted over her tongue
Coated her mouth
Slithered over her lips
It was almost intoxicating

Like the first breath
Up your neck
Across your ear
Making your knees quake

She called you like a siren
To drown
Death by naivety
Or belief in angels

Mesmerized by your own creation
Drunk on lust
A desert of feeling
So you can't feel yourself dying

Loquacious seductress
With her honeyed song
Sweet poison lips
You can't help but drink

Lost
You want to crawl inside her
Consume her
Devour every inch of her

It's too late when you realize
She has consumed you
There is nothing left
You slip into the void

A warning to those who teeter
Dance on the edge
Faking what can't be faked
All atone in the end

Good writing. Reminded of spider sex. All the best.
