The Happiness Theif

by alton dodson   Aug 5, 2012

He came without a single sign or warning

He hit me at night and left by morning

When i woke colors and sounds were gone

My feelings misplaced, emotions withdrawn

I shut my eyes, a sickly vile presence holds me hostage by suprise

My eyes flew open, there he stood unspoken

I spoke: "who are you, and where's my joy"

Strangely he was coy, and breathed heavy greif

He held my hands and whispered with ease:

"I'm a beast, a demon, The Happiness Theif"
