I love you Daddy

by X Harlea X   Aug 6, 2012

Eight years has passed,
Since I seen you last.
Your smiling face still shines through,
Everytime I'm feeling blue.

I remember like it was yesterday,
You were my knight that settled my dismay.
But then you were gone and I was alone,
Called home by the Lord when none of us known.

Now I sit here wondering why,
Why it was you had to die.
But I understand that you was sick Daddy,
And now I'll let go of you sadly.

I'll hold onto the good times not the bad,
So maybe, just maybe, remembering won't make me sad.
Smiling I'll run and yell at the sky,
" I love you Daddy until the day that I die. "

** this is a poem I entered in a contest, and while it was written for the contest, every bit of this is true. I miss my Dad with every fiber of my being, and I will continue to miss him, and love him until the day that I die. **

Great ending to a very sad piece, you dad must have been very proud of you, you show you had a great bond in this.

Lovely raw emotion in this and the rhymes work really well.

    regards and take care.

Oh sweetheart...I am so sorry for you:(

You are so young still, to miss someone so vital already now is beyond my imagination.

Just know he is there for you always, as your guardian angel. Please believe this is really true..

    *hugs*
