Entangled

by Baby Rainbow   Aug 6, 2012

I cannot believe that you are free
roaming this world like a beast.
Have you any idea what you've done to me?
Do you feel any ounce of remorse?

You have broken me into shattered fragments
like a vase knocked from a shelf.
Did you ever stop to notice?
Was my pain not clear to see?
You carried on abusing me,

again,
again,
and again.

From 4 years old you captured my youth
and made sure it belonged to you.

I will never feel safe,
I will never feel whole.
Words will never explain
just how much you stole.

It's not as easy moving on
when your damaged by the past.
You wake up without your breath
the bedroom spinning fast.

But this is my life, because of you
nothing more and nothing less.
Just me trapped inside your web
entangled within your sticky mess.

Its hard to get over such a horrible past you never do but you learn to deal with it and make a life you thought you lost its never to late

As for the poem itself again you bought out the deepest emotions and it stabs you like a knife awesome

Abused from 4 years old... my God. I will never understand what goes through the mind of an abuser... it just sickens me and my heart breaks knowing the poor child never had a chance to really grow up and not be in fear. :(

Also, I will never understand how they let them out of prison like you stated. It should be a life sentence, and they shouldn't "protect" them like they do. :/ Just my opinion, though.

It is hard for the child to move on, even when they are grown... they never forget, they are forever tainted. Some come to terms with it and try to move on, but most are scarred and it's harder for them... I guess it varies from each case.

You wrote a powerful poem, well written.
