Untitled*3

by Shades of Gray   Aug 6, 2012

You won't hold me back.
This life is mine.
You're part of my past.
I won't waste my time.

I'll be free of your hate,
your pointless discrimination.
I won't meet your fate.
I won't be so impatient.

I know we're related,
I just don't care.
Your ethics are outdated.
You don't know what's fair.

Do you see what you're doing?
Do it make you feel proud?
Just know that you'll lose me,
and my voice will be loud.

I refuse to be silenced.
This freedom is my wealth.
This isn't defiance.
It's called being myself.

I really loved the last four lines. Before the last four lines I liked it but it tipped the scales with those last lines. I love poems that get you in the end. Really nice work. Keep writing you have the foundation to build more on.
