I Just Hate You, Syria.

by nouriguess   Aug 7, 2012

We've given you all.
All. All.
Our bits, sweat and hearts; I walked
through the garbage of your streets and
called it beautiful.
I've experienced loneliness staring upon
your sky and thought that I learnt poetry.
We've loved you
completely,
wholeheartedly,
blindly,
with all of your poniards that grew in
the shape of Jasmines,
with all of your black depths.

You've taken our beloved
ones. My beloved one.
I saw torture at each pavement,
at each star that belonged to you.

I hate you, hate you, hate you
and can't see you charming
anymore.

I can understand how terrible this is, being in Egypt and so.
Remember to hold on to faith. And pray.

I too agree with all others.... with every progressing word in the poem, i visualise an inhabitant of syria breaking out on all those turmoil, pain they have went through, those totally shattering moments...
very painful...! i dont own the power to completely soothe your pain yet i do support you through my prayers and wish that every bit of patience you undergo, god gift you thousand reasons to smile...!!:)
And lastly, this poem brought out the emotions held in me for the syrians...
    Good work...^^

This is absolutely heartbreaking, I'm sorry about all you have had to go through and all the violence you've seen happen so close. I can't even begin to imagine it. This poem is so painfully beautiful, you really just release those emotions and give out all your thoughts straight from your heart here- it truly grabs my heart too. I agree with each person here, things well get better, there is always someone watching over you. Never forget that. Take care and never stop writing :)

Awww, I must echo on Britt's comment. This poem is beautifully tragic and so expressive. I like the repetition of "all" in the second line, it really emphasizes the meaning.

I must say I absolutely loved this part:
"Our bits, sweat and hearts; I walked
through the garbage of your streets and
    called it beautiful."
^ It reminded me of how we all see the flaws of our countries but we still love them and will call them beautiful despite the bad things about it.

The word choice and imagery created was perfect...

This poem really touched my heart... as we all know it's really sad what is happening in Syria.. and since you are there/ or are from there I can tell how close to your heart it is.

Well done with this poem :*
