Nature Heal Thyself (Tanka)

by Larry Chamberlin   Aug 9, 2012

All mankind's poisons
will survive as Earth converts
them into blessings:
fuel stored deep within her bowels
for some future sentients.

I really liked this title Larry.

I have a huge love for tankas! And I'm glad I stumbled upon this one. Yout opening sentence was really breathtaking. I found that so beautiful and somewhat inspiring to treat Earth kindly.

Ok and nana totally stole BOTH of my guesses as to what you were talking about. .. either way, I love the message :)

Very deep larry, Mankinds poisons, where do we start, wars? polution? over population?
    The list is endless.
You portray earth as stronger than all of us, she can convert our poisons, to use the word blessings suggests that our biggest poisons are our sins.

A scientific take on the use of fuel, as we know most of our fuel does come from the depths of earth. I love the choice of words using Bowels. Suggests a living earth,
Clever use of the word sentient. You are suggest that our poisons may be discovered by a new race. Maybe not human, but conscious and capable of sensation.
    great write.

Hahaha awesome you are awesome Larry, I ask you guys for a one sentence challenge and you come up with a tanka that actually is one sentence...smart @
i love it, makes me think..hmmm
    hmmm

this is deep you know, are you trying to say that their evil is converted into good...

no no wait, u make me think lol..when we throw garbage...after years underground it is transformed into oil...right ?

are you trying to say that nature transforms our wastes into something good ?

or is it a real metaphor for our bad deeds....or that nature has an influence...oh Larry you write some deep stuff.

    I should think more...
