The Story Of You And I (collab)

by Meme & One Man Clan   Aug 10, 2012

Rolling through a wreck of thought
Of which letters she wrote
Humid in escape trapped in a trap of still
Which knowledge creates all will?
Cascading into submission of self unto
But out of and beyond even a sky in its murky blue

And I glimpse just a star one day
Then I collapse to pray
And so I think to smile
Of distance in time; the whole while
Echoes of a secret lay in the heart
Dissolving in the intercity of poems and in my own art
Poetry carries in which, all, weight
Diffuses as in hiding, to someone, complete and straight
But just like the fathers of time, I will rebel
One day it must, it will or will not be God's will
If you understand, I hope
Darling, I, in the loose knots of a weak rope

--

I understood what your words failed to say
All those hidden murmurs when you pray
That secret that your heart still holds
Is the only one my heart refuses to unfold
And that rope was once around my neck
Just like you are now; I once was a wreck

No matter how strong we stand, our hearts still bow
But I continue to smile because you showed me how
So let me loosen the knots and set you free
Lets pretend that you're not you and I'm not me

Wow!!! I'm speechless.... I am in love with this poem!!! First of all, what a beautiful and lovely collaboration!! You both should collaborate more, I am so impressed and proud of both of you!! Hats off to both of you for writing a rhyming poem as well! :)

I love so many things about this poem... and I love the meaning..

This is one of my favorite lines: "Darling, I, in the loose knots of a weak rope"

I must say I loved the last two stanzas... they really touched me and moved me!

"So let me loosen the knots and set you free
Lets pretend that you're not you and I'm not me"

    ^^ Beautifulllll!!!

This poem has a very masculine and powerful part and a soft and feminine one... Ususally the poem is written in such a way that you cannot really telll who wrote what, but this turned out really great!

    Well done,

    5/5 Ingrid
