Guidance of Hope

Born as a target
for heinous crimes,
undeserving
of a place on earth.
Doomed for a childhood
of abominable torture and fear.
Innocence and youth
destroyed,
hopes and dreams
crushed like scrap metal.
Forever scarred inside.

After affects kicking in,
insecurities arise.
Your world crumbling around you
like a demolished building,
leaving nothing but debris.
A future of endless therapy
to rebuild the broken remains,
uncertain of the results
from the recovered product.

Glimmering light in the distance
coming closer to my vision,
hypnotizing my mind,
guiding me towards
your enlightened path.
The closer I get
the more you grasp me tight.
My heart latches onto you,
a great weight becomes much lighter
as I drift into your arms.

Remaining on this road
is the journey you must embark on,
for darkness is not an option.
This bright light
will give you strength
and carry you afar
if your hopelessness sets in.
Reach for the moon
and you'll be amidst the stars,
undefeatable you are.
You will find triumph and light
through your failures,
you will never give up.
You may have been born a victim
to unforgettable heinous crimes,
but you will die a strong survivor
after a long life of successful dreams.
