Ishtar (Acrostic)

by Ingrid   Aug 13, 2012

Ishtar (Acrostic)

I am the creator Goddess of love, giver of light
Sensual, yet a confident warrior without fright
Heroin and lady, courageous enough to unveil
The true nature of others, and all it entails
Ambrosial, voluptuous Venusian protector of life
Reigning to create a world without war or strife

Written for a club challenge.

    Hello Ingrid,

I have just stumbled upon this poem. We seem to have a vogue for acrostics here on P&Q at the moment. I have never heard of this goddess of love, war, fertility, and sexuality, daughter of Anu, a sky god. Ishtar, pronounced Easter, but she is not about bunnies and chocolate Christian egg sybolisms, no, she is is rather raunchy lady of night relief...I like her. She is all woman!!
    *winks*

She is confident and will use all that she possess to get what she wants and needs. Needless to say she would care not if there was spilt blood, she would call it collateral damage I am sure.

Well done Ingrid and thank you for introducing this woman, this goddess to me.

    Take care,

    ((hugs))
