A Part of Me Survived

Tonight I cried
And it felt so good to feel alive
Not a tear on the cheek
But one in the eye will be good enough for me

It's been a long time
Since I've felt like I've had a soul
So much anger and pain
That I haven't been able to let my true colors show

I've cursed these tears before
Oh how I dreamed to rid them of this machine
I never thought I'd accomplish it
But I'll be damn if I didn't from every part of me
