Pretend Game (Monchielle)

by Aaron   Aug 15, 2012

Let's play the pretend game
and fly off in the sky,
we can visit the stars,
have dinner on the moon
and fall asleep on Mars.

Let's play the pretend game
and forget about time,
we can get lost in love,
a pair against the world
just me and my beloved.

Let's play the pretend game
I know you, you know me
I'll be yours, you'll be mine
to have you for a day
would make, my, life divine.

Let's play the pretend game
pretend to read my mind,
I'll show you what I feel;
a togetherness with
you, I'd love to make real.

    Cheesy cuteness, I love it,
Plus the whole concept around it is just so true, that we believe what we want to believe, even if part of us doubts .

    Very nice write here.

The most interesting parrt about this piece is your closing part...to make you real! Such an irony; it is as if sometimes we believe the lies we make up...and sometimes again; we wish something enough that we believe it's there.

Loved the rhyme scheme: not forced at all. Poem flowed well, first part a little bit cheesy...not a veryyy creative idea but enjoyable and cute...

Then it got more and more intersting reaching your last parts which in ny opinion were your strongest.

    Well done!lovely

How true in life is this piece... often times within my own life- I have had imaginary, pretend loves... just getting lost in the beauty of it all... such a romantic piece you have penned here.. very nice!
