To the Writing Desk

by TSI25   Aug 16, 2012

Well it comes again to the writing desk
where my quills have all absconded
to a land of ink where none can blink
and lovers once had bonded

A touch of waxy curtains bled
from weakest, sleepless candle lights
now sparking from a darkness
granting lulled clandestine sights

to those of us in night's embrace
betwixt frozen stars and frosted grass
where all eyes look to wander
Seeking passion's brazen brass

I write to you, beloved one
My heart lodged in my throat
Remember the fire as our souls leapt higher
As now we stay afloat

  • This is such a beautiful, mesmerising piece.
I love you choice of words and your rhyming technique was fantastic.

The imagery of this piece was vivid and the emotion behind each line was well expressed.

The opening stanza was my favourite, and really drew me in from the get-go.

    Well penned. 5/5
