The Promise We Made (collab)

by Meme & Naughtymouse   Aug 16, 2012

On opposite sides of the battle we stood...

Until you took me away; a captive
I seemed to others, but my love
was imprisoned in your heart.
This armour may shield your
body, but not your love.

I have seen you fight the odds,
a tortured man you once were
but I knew the remedies to fix
you. To mend your open wounds,
to lull your pain away.

And amongst the chaos we vowed...

To the promised love that started
this. We planted it with every
growing tree, but rivers of tears
and blood were not meant to water
them. How long will they survive?

Those walls of troy will fall,
like I have fallen for you, and
as men shall die by my sword
with each drop of blood spilt,
this love will grow ever stronger..

To hold the promise we once took.

You guys work very well together, and you incorporate each of yourselves in the pieces you pen...

This one, I felt was a little repetitive, with the word "love" in the first stanza, knocking the flow immediately...

However saying that, this piece is very enjoyable to read.
