Discarded Kiss

by Maple Tree   Aug 18, 2012

Often times you cross
my memories-
I taste your betrayal,
those heated boils
still linger-

Blistered promises
for a beautiful tomorrow,
knowing the pain I went
through; I would have
never kissed you.

I'm left with scars,
labeling my whispers
with a toxic essence,

which you left behind
years ago.

I was simply discarded....

I just love this poem, knowing that I can relate to, I just think I love it more than I said.

This is so sad, you know past memories tend to really be painful and hurtful, because they tend to make us feel WEAK, unable to do anything about it, and sometimes they make us hold a little bit of whatso called grudges, exactly because we cannot do anything to change it.

I love your word choice over here, really! so simply heartfelt, you sound like you are full of regret, but we both know there are certain feelings that were worth the trial.

This is out of sadness, every person who deceives us teaches us a very imp lesson, I believe in that.

    However, this got to me:

    knowing the pain I went
    through; I would have
    never kissed you.

    ^
so beautiful...I would have never...nothing is as painful as would have.
we have a wish over here...or perhaps, talking with a blaming tone. Both ways, i love it.

    scars,
    labeling my whispers
    ^
how creative...as if it's within you, deep inside, moving with your breaths, your hurtful memories are carried with you...as you speak, breathe...

    wonderful poem..
    well done, hats off.

    I was simply discarded....

As usual the metaphors you used are really strong:)

I can feel the sadness in this poem. When someone you love hurts you, that hurts a lot. and is really hard to be forgotten. But we know that they also gave us something too, they made us stronger, much stronger:)

    Great job as usual.

Such a powerful piece Maple, it is sad to know someone has hurt you this way, and I like how you expressed your thoughts.

It makes me think of all the people who hurt us but we once loved, and would never of imagined the pain they would cause us.

I liked the phrase "blistered promises " I thought this was so strong and jumped straight out at me. Very unique.

loved this one and could relate to this. I liked the ending being singled out too, added a lot of power for the final words. x
