Larry- You know im a HUGE FAN of nature poems and I adore writing and reading them as well... I first started reading this piece and was captivated by your fun, visual word display. How you describe the crabs and the blue flame underneath... love that! I could picture your mother cooking and your brothers running wild together... from the start it was the feeling of a fun, family poem... about togetherness and family bonding. Then- You make a dramatic ending.. to reveal just how powerful natures beauty can captivate ones heart and soul... and to have this childhood memory within you always is a treasure...

"There has never been any memory
as vivid and long lasting as that single
moment when nature held up her work
and all I could do was worship."

^^ I can picture you standing there all bug eyed, with mouth wide open... I have the same face often within nature.... its a beautiful feeling and you captured it well within this stanza.... Wonderful poem you have penned here!!
