Sleep

by PAUL HEWSON   Aug 20, 2012

7am , i dont want to wake from the dream i had about us ,
my only solace is in slumber ,
Yes i dare to dream in pictures and i swear
,i can feel your breath in the nape of my neck
your fingers on my spine thats now chilled
with open eyes.

I will cry unashamedly again and again , i just want to sleep
our dreams i will keep woven in my sheets and in me
In every noise i hear your voice , calling , adoring
i will not move yet , i will enjoy my dream like state
for just a moment longer until the reality is my alarm

why does it have to be light , i know a way to stay in eternal darkness
where black is good and the dawn is my enemy
let me just close my eyes and search that dream like the turning of pages.
there u are again
i close my eyes to sleep with love eternal
xx

I know this feeling all too well. When reality is much worse than any dream could ever be. Especially when that one person is part of those dreams, it makes waking up all the more unbearable. Loved this piece!
