You have a knack for writing awesome, and thought provoking Senryu's Larry! Each time I see a senryu by you I get a smile on my face because I know it's going to make my mind swirl in many directions, and I love it!

First of all the title is one meaning all on it's own, and yet wraps in with the poem very nicely... and in the last line you break it down to have a double meaning, in my opinion.

As parents- being thanked by our children is a rare thing... but when we are, it touches our hearts in a huge way... Being noticed or recognized in today's society as a whole, can have a huge affect on a persons and self esteem... when a child does it... its a gift that parents hold dear and lock them away in their emotional sentimental boxes inside their hearts.... I smiled many times over when reading this poem.

I really enjoyed how you took, the title Apparent- and in your last line made it a parent thing..... just brilliant!

    Very nice piece Larry!!

    WOW.

Are you that smart, or is it by coincidence that the play with words worked that well for such a small form of poetry ?

Ya I am talking about the " a parent" -" apparent" part. That was just awesome!

I love that your last line is your last line, in other words, I love it when in your poems (most of the times) you keep the best part of the cake for the last bite, you start it indirectly, and then we reach that part where we :D ooohhhh!! yaaa, sounds a bit inappropriate but that's how it goes.

A parent appreciated is indeed not an apparent thing, especially these days, I know on the days of our fathers and grandfathers, parents were somehow considered as Holly people. They were really appreciated and thanked and just sometimes...they would be thanked out of fear. Parents had a much more appreciated part of children's lives before, while now I think it became that rare that you...wrote about it :]

I love your work! Excellent piece
