Shall we dance?

by Chelsey & Naughtymouse   Aug 20, 2012

The air is brisk, and snowflakes pelt our cheeks
with angel like kisses, gentle and hushed
The city is sleeping and I,
Well... I've never felt more awake than now

Each moment we savor, as the snow crystals
offer atonement to this night. The silence
of the city reverent to our amorousness and
almost frozen with baited breath for our next scene....

New York's tallest pine is strung with motley colors.
Giving more twinkle to your eye and sparkle to your smile.
Shadows abruptly sweep by our toes, bypassing our bliss
The only captivation in my world right now,
is the way you look tonight.

This blanketed park; the womb of ignited passion.
At the moment when we kiss tentatively, the Earth
falls away and we are left balancing -
among the stars reflecting in our eyes.

Hands cup one another as our arms stiffen
against resting elbows. We dance to the sound of
jazz notes, played by rugged men on a street corner.
Chins fall on shoulders, and we both are fighting tears

As the melody comes to its end and the last of the angel kisses
fall, there is a new awaited beginning. A fresh song starts,
the song of lovers in the snow as they turn winter into spring.
Which blossoms into an eternal orchid of enchantment

Happiness lies in the heartbeat of every second.

I really love this line: "At the moment when we kiss tentatively, the Earth
falls away and we are left balancing -
among the stars reflecting in our eyes."

    Ohhh Wow guys, really.

It really flowed so well, every stanza joined well with the last and continued into the next. I don't know why but I had images of a couple in Paris with romantic dinners etc. It just felt like a poem about a movie scene in your love films etc.

It was beautifully written with such amazing choices of words. I also loved the ending as a line on its own, this would make a good quote seperate from the poem. I felt this line kind of summed up your poem and the emotion of happiness, it describes what true love should be, should be happy every second and you felt in this poem it was.

Brilliant you two, just loved it. xx

    Sigh what did I think..

You are two precious people, obviously I'd be blown away by the outcome, this poem is so beautiful and asks to be experienced and not just read.

I want to see many many many more collabs, I can't do anything, but sigh and melt really. :)
