Vows In Heaven

by Baby Rainbow   Aug 21, 2012

Before you died you proposed to me
with a golden diamond ring.
Your life cut short in the blink of an eye,
leaving no wedding plans for us.
You are my soul mate, my one true love,
the prince who lights my heart with hope.
How could I go on without you,
without the wedding of our dreams?

So I made a wish and it came true
for one more day to be with you.
So up to heaven, your new home,
my unicorn delivered me.
My fairy grandmother already there,
handed me the most beautiful snow white dress.
A tiara with diamonds and sapphire gems
which twinkled brighter than the stars.
A kiss on my cheek, as she comes to my ear
and whispers " he is waiting for you "

As I walk down the aisle upon soft fluffy clouds,
I hear the bells singing in tune to our love.
I reach the altar, I am finally there
and I turn to see your face.
The moment I've been waiting for
since the day you left my side.
Your eyes; exactly as I remember,
sky blue and gazing at me.
Upon instruction the rings are placed;
our fingers intertwined once again.
Hearts reunited, departed lips rejoined,
as we both say " I do!"

That perfect kiss of gentleness
that tells me you're the one.
That softness of your hand upon my face
as you once more wipe my tears.
That reassurance of your voice
as you tell me how beautiful I am.
That feeling of safety you easily create
when you hold me in your arms.
That moment of pure blissfulness
when nothing else exists,
just me and you and our immortal love
as we take our vows in heaven.

My heartbeat slows as you pick me up,
I can feel it almost stop.
You place me down near the golden gates
in which I entered through.
My gown begins to fade away,
my tiara no longer shines.
It is time for us to now let go
as our hands depart once more.
Back on my unicorn, I really must go
my time here has ran out.

I wave goodbye, for the very last time
until we meet again.
But the memory of this magic wish
will encourage me to live on.
Thank you for the love you showed
in every kiss you gave to me.
My husband in heaven, how I love you so,
and forever our love will be.
My friend, my soul mate, my one true love,
I release these doves for you.
To remind you each time that you look down
I am looking up at you.
And each night as I close my eyes
I come and visit you.

Sleeping beside you, wrapped in your arms,
dreaming of
our heavenly wedding day.

I am speechless with this piece, can't relate if it could be viewed by paranoid eye, this seems to be a tragic love, but being optimistic, there's an undying hope, a continuity of a journey till finally the answer to a prayer is granted, even more superb and extra-ordinary, a heavenly wedding. Well done.

    Mind blowing job!
The flow (content) of the poem:"winter, summer, winter and ends in spring!"
Hope you understand what I mean to say!

This is a mammoth write, i mean not o ly the length of the piece but the emotion contained in it is nothing short of inspiring, seriously saffie my favourite write from you, your word choice and flow were impeccable throughout, the imagery that is conjured up as i read just blew my mind away, i have honestly not the vocabulary or poetic prowess to tell you how much i love this write.
