Great piece man! It's really heart taking. Keep up.

  • Firstly, this is a great piece. It's simply written but with much meaning behind each line - a deeper understanding is needed to fully comprehend your emotion behind the piece.

To me, I get the impression that you don't much like yourself - perhaps that's even a little too weakly said.

    Why would you think
of a mindless creature like me?

    ^^
'mindless creature' - this to me sounds as though you're saying you don't think things through and this I guess could in turn make you seem heartless at times..?

    Why would you cry
over a wicked mind like mine?

    ^^
'wicked mind' - you think yourself cruel..? Perhaps you have said or done something to hurt this person, perhaps 'mindlessly' and yet this person still loves you, only you hate yourself for hurting this person..?

    Why would you care
for a flawed human like me?

    ^^
What you must understand, everyone is flawed. No one is perfect, and everyone has a past - some perhaps are more flawed than others, but everyone is. Including the person who you speak of. Only, we can overlook, and sometimes completely be blinded to, the flaws of those we love.

    Why would you smile
at the mask that is my face?

    ^^
This line is out of sync with the flow. Perhaps try to revise this in order to make it fit..?
To me this sounds as though you are putting on a facade (perhaps its the word 'mask' that lends to this impression) that you are lying to this person, or at least have been.

    Why would you lean
    on my shrugging shoulders?

    ^^
'shrugging shoulders' - to me it sounds as though you don't want this person to lean on you, to be dependent on you or perhaps to touch you... do you despise yourself that much? Are you trying to hurt yourself by not allowing yourself the pleasure of love?

    Why would you wish
luck to an unlucky soul like me?

    ^^
Personally I don't believe much in luck. I think that your depression is just really making you seem like you are worthy of such positive thoughts, or such hope.

    Why would you love
    a heartless man like me?

^^ I thought this in the beginning with the statements of 'mindless creature' and 'wicked mind'. No one is heartless. Socially unaware, yes. Hateful, yes. Heartless, no. If you are able to feel emotion, you are able to love.

    It's crying over spilled milk

    ^^
I never have fully understood that saying 'crying over spilt milk'.
I THINK it means that it's worthless to do so - we won't gain anything by doing it. Is that right?
If so, you are not worthless, and this person you speak of clearly doesn't think so either.

    Overall;
A really powerful piece, that shows viewers the internal turmoil of the author. Clearly you have someone who loves you for who you are no, flaws and all, and you should embrace that instead of pushing this person away. You may think, by pushing them away you are protecting them, but it is there risk to take - if they don't care about the hurt that may (or may not) come in the future, you shouldn't be worried either. It is your job just to try to be that person worthy of that love. You may find yourself happy.
    Really, what's to lose?

About the poem. There was one minor critique - regarding flow of the piece. Just the one line was out of sync that I noticed. A revisement of that should quickly fix the issue.

I liked the endless questions. They weren't entirely clear - there are hidden meanings behind each, that the reader must interpret (and then still probably not fully understand). It gives the piece depth.

    Brilliant work. 5/5

Low self esteem can make us feel that way.
Often others see qualities in us we can't
or refuse to see. Beauty is in the eye of
the beholder. All it takes is a certain someone who believes in us and love us
and accept us just the way we are.
You have to give yourself some credit

Excellent, I loved this and although it was about how you view yourself as unworthy, it was written very well. I hope one day to read from you a poem like this only with the opposite view of yourself.
