Wow I LOVE your pieces, this one is no exception. I feel the sincerity in it. I do feel it's written for a friend of yours that is going through hard time, and you telling him/her that you'll always be there, no matter what.. I maybe wrong but thats how I felt:)

Sometimes its hard to open up even to a close friend, there are things that just remain with us, or torment us since there is that insecurity that won't let us share with anyone. it's really sweet of you to have written this for a friend.

since the whole thought of being there for your friend no matter if you don't know what makes him/her sad is what counts. Also that you want to ease his/her agony shows how good of a friend you are. I'm pretty sure that with this poem this person will feel better.

This came across my attention in the right time. I actually understood this poem, like no other by you.
My friend got angry at me from a short while, like 2 hours lol, because we are so close that I don't open up regarding certain things.

It's easier to open up for people who are not close, like it is also very easy to talk freely for someone who you have just met on taking it all out infront of someone who is close. At times, it's the opppposite, but for ME, I am like this friend of yours!

The bond between you is something so beautiful! I love how you show that you are with that friend through good and bad, throuh bitter and sweet and you imply it by sayingg:

nightmares vs dreams
sunsets and dawns.

also it implies time...like past and future moments. showing indeeeeed an VISUAL artifacts of your love !!

the poem is very strong, and flowing and heartfelt. I love the meaning behind it, something I can relate to.

Before I read the beautiful comments above me, I though that this was really about a bird.. maybe caged... or wounded... and I truly was fond of the idea; I so much liked how this ended.

But if the meaning is about friendship, then it's still okay with me :P ... such a lovely write!

Andrea, I have no idea why I never saw this, I must have my eyes shut all the time, seems I am missing some great poetry...

Anyway, You always touch me with your writes, to the point that I find myself lost in a world, I can always feel the emotion and here I feel the love and the pain to do what's right.

Sometimes those close to us, bare the brunt of our bad moods, our anger and we are so open and gentle to those we maybe aren't as close to...it is something that happens to all of us.
