The Dew Drop Inn

"The Dew Drop Inn"

Driving Home From Poetpaplooza

Frightening Lightning Strikes all around

Soul Drenched Minding Author

Hail covered road homeward bound

Gail winds shoulder opens front door

Up from the mess vibration perplexed

Stripping off wet clothes to the Floor

Digging in jeans receiving a text

A night like this who could it be?

"Miss you. I'm at the Dew Drop Inn."

Pondering weather again to take leave

Alluring Adventure temptation gives in

Instinct takes over into the Bizarre

Night Prowler sits in the driver's seat

Spirits grip the wheel of the car

Red neon streaks glare glistening street

Brakes applied loud voices inside

Keyless lock chirps car door slam

Whiff moist breath relief from the ride

Pallid carefree souls be damn

Contemplating awaits looks and stares

Caution extinguished courage assuage

Boots climbing dew soaked creaky stairs

In through the door eyes fixed on the stage

Mesmerized by her motions above

Stale air as smoke vacuums

Brimming elixir potions of Love

Trails of succulent perfumes

Seeing things that just aren't there

As the door seals and the walls close Inn

She's bent over, face in her hair

There's no retreating again these walls of Sin...
