Piece Of Paper

by Thomas   Aug 26, 2012

Once I was clean
Nothing but wide-open space
Endless lines of blue
Ready to be filled

Along the way,
lots of things were scribbled
Some were scratched
but all of them left a mark

The bottom of the page
is not yet in sight
So I will keep writing
and adding to the story

All I hope
is that it won't end in a bin
But that it will burn
and shine through the night

I agree with Meme, I like the whole idea of your poem and you worded this idea very creatively with your words.

It reminded me of when I write because I hate leaving space on the paper so when I read your stanza :

    The bottom of the page
    is not yet in sight
    So I will keep writing
    and adding to the story

    - it reminded me of my little issue in which I always write down to the very bottom of the page, even in letters I hate leaving spaces so I just keep adding more. i think this is how most of my poems end up far much longer than I meant!!

nice job on this one Thomas.

Love the concept of this one Thomas, starting all clean with endless possibillity. Then adding new stories, new things and knowing that each left a mark. And I love how you endid it hoping it will remain to exist..

Wonderful images and the idea of likening a simple piece of papef to a perso. Is spot on.

    Great piece.
