Past Vice

My past a nightmare, I wish to forget
My future is limited, already set
I can't take back, the mistakes I made
My memory clear, I wish it would fade

It was late at night, quiet and quick
I opened the doors, with a clever old trick
Walk into a home, and look for the gold
Wait for the sunrise, so it could be sold

Can't live with myself, the remorse that I feel
The victims don't know, my addiction was real
But it doesn't make up, for all the hurt that I caused
Broke into your home, not a second I paused

To take what was your, and make it all mine
To me it meant money, your family shrine
The ring for your son, to give to his bride
When you told him the news, he sat down and cried

Forgive me please, I can never undo
The pain I induced, to your family and you
One day will come, where ill pay the price
A lifetime of punishment, for all of my vice
