Like a rose

I'm writing this poem because I feel
Neglected once again
You always put everyone else first
And you don't seem to understand

How that makes me feel everytime
And what you put me through
You don't know that you hurt me
With all those things you do

Where is the love we used to share
My heart just feels so cold
Where is the time that I used to
Feel safe inside your hold

I wish you'd know how much I miss you
Even when you're there
I'm crying out for your affection
But you never seem to care

I thought I would mean more to you
I once used to be your world
But now when you tell me that you love me
I can't buy a word

'Cause you're never there when I need you
And I used to think you'd know me
But there is more to love than telling
It's also about showing

And right now I can't feel that love
And it makes me so sad
I really miss all the wonderful times
And moments we once had

Why is it always so nice at the start
Why can't it be like that still?
This love seems to me like a rose
That's slowly starting to wilt..
