Lonely Heart

by Baby Rainbow   Aug 31, 2012

Heart wrenching pain
searing through my chest
as my organ struggles to beat.

My cold blood clotting,
desperate for your warmth
to make it flow once more.

Thoughts spinning endlessly
inside my pounding head,
replaying memories of you.

Aching, lonely bones
longing for your embrace
to comfort my silent tears.

Heart wrenching pain
grinds to a sudden halt,
as my organ no longer beats....

... Without you.

  • WOW! The depth of emotion in this piece was just astounding. I felt like I was the one having my heart basically ripped out whilst I was reading it.

I like how you used 'my organ' instead of heart - it gives the piece a personal, unique touch. Also, how you wrote the first and last stanzas almost as a mirror image of each other - that was clever.

    Well penned. 5/5

You've done a fine job showing exactly how it feels like to be yearning for someone you love
    The pain sometimes become unbearable
But poetry Seems to be a good cure for it
