Larry Chamberlin the Godfather - Profile Poem

by Larry Chamberlin   Sep 1, 2012

Reflection is only natural
when you have no expectation
of crossing as many bridges
as you have burned in vexation.

This guise I hold before my face
speaks untrue, is without proof;
but since we're in this masquerade
let us dance around the truth.

Passion rules younger souls,
righteousness blunts maturity;
wilder days are set aside
for comfort of security.

This party is nearly over
I've bridges more to seek
but when you recall me please
keep my tongue within your cheek.
