Peruse

Submerge me in the ocean--
leave out the part where,
the salt comes from the eyes,
wounds shed from a secret place--

Once only up to my knees,
the waves sang a song of grace
lullying me to a safe place,
over my head now they scream--

What words you could only whisper,
are lost upon these deaf ears
filled with the void of the ocean,
your voice soon as lost as I--

Had my vision been so clear
I'd have seen you standing there,
Your smile as warming as the sun,
but alas, I'm bleary eyed--

I know night falls upon the earth,
the stars twinkle in their private code,
the ocean laughs with the glow of the moon
their leer only for my lonely demise.
