Alternate Reality

by You Can Speak But I Can Rhyme   Sep 5, 2012

I wonder...
When darkness thrives upon me;
What lies above and beneath, I cannot see;
What I am now, what I once was I can't be...

I confess...
When words cut me so deep, I stitch them with lies;
For now I am just bones, I wear no disguise;
I remorse no more, I welcome the dark side...

I bleed...
When the ink flows, it immensely pleases me;
In tears I smile, the pain it sets me free;
Insanity is me, I am my own tragedy...

I smile...
My heart is heavier, yet I take it all in;
I still pay the price, I've committed a lot of sins;
Even though it hurts, one cannot repair all broken strings...

I shatter...
Your hopes, in the end I stand ever so defiantly;
I am the truth, the one and only weak yet mighty;
I am your reflection, I am... the alternate reality...
