But I am just a man......

by Ole Carsten   Sep 6, 2012

Dreaming of a letter
From you
A surprise of tales
About your love
Stories about feelings
Emotions and expectations
You are touching white paper

I wish for an envelope
Popping in my mailbox
With a small sound
Not a ping as others
But a sweet tune
Like a love song
Performed by your lips

I wish for a threshold change
A punch to my jar
Let me lose my tongue
Reading your own words
Even in mother tongue
Tell of love in floods
Seas of emotion

Imagine you just saw me
And I am still the one
You are longing for
And wants to tell it
Tell me secrets
About inner feelings

I wish I was the dog
Sitting on your bench
Having strokes and
Sweet words
Listening to your sorrows
Hearing your laugther
But I am just a man...

    Hi

Thanks for your lovely comments, sometimes a man can be horrible and demanding, I know, smiling

This is beautiful words here, I love the ending of wanting to be the dog because it recieves more attention and love than you do.

    Beautifully penned, well done.

Ole--- Mercy! You took my breath away... I love the raw emotion and in depth sadness and longing within this piece. I love the metaphors of the dog on the bench... wishing for that letter... very touching piece by you!
