Red Button

by Maple Tree   Sep 8, 2012

I could write about a woman lost
within the woods, whose hands
had been stained with the blood
of an innocent victim, all because
she had a bad day,

and society would be angry.

Ink can inscribe the thoughts
of a psychopath and his endless
need to feed upon the brains
of meandering fawn,

and the world would be disgusted,
however,

If I write of a man in a three piece suit
waiting to press one red button, and by
doing so would kill millions of children
just wanting to laugh and play,

then I would be silenced.

I shall continue to write of peace
and hope that one day the man
in a three piece suit will read my
poetry and find the courage to

stop the madness.

Andrea....freaking hell, what is this?...wait let me answer, pure brilliant is what it is. I'm totally adding this to my favorites..

This like abed said, leaves me questioning so much...the man with the red button?...the president? A terrorist? Who? Who?...love poems that leave me thinking, love your sarcasm! You stated what you wish you could, but know you can't, however, that means you've just stated it lol...god I loved this..

Amdrea, the world confuses me and sickens me.
I love how this piece is political but shows humanity exists...however rare.

The questions and thoughts this provokes are powerful. Wow!

You are such an amazing writer.

Ands, Dear, you just conquered my heart and soul.

what you've done here is that you've pinned an epic poem, one of a kind, describing the hypocrisy of our Race, I was having this conversation with Leuceo yesterday and this poem here was exactly what we were talking about.

A weird world indeed, one that justifies anything, even if it's redeemed inhumane.

5/5. And This is a winner in any book, in any day.

This has a hint of politics in it.
Who's the man behind the red button?
    ... It provokes our thinking.

    Great one, Andrea:)
