Today I Kissed A Stranger

by Jess   Sep 9, 2012

Today I kissed a stranger,
I didn't know what to do.
I thought of all the sweet moments,
I thought of me and you.

Today I kissed a stranger,
I barely knew his name.
I guess I was a little tipsy,
maybe I wasn't sane.

Today I kissed a stranger,
and you came to mind.
I thought of your lips,
as he caressed mine.

Today I kissed a stranger,
and I realized something big.
I just cant get over the fact,
that you used to be the stranger that kissed me.

This is the second time i have read this poem and it still doesn't fail to amaze me. I loved the simple lyrical content and the elaborate rhyming scheme that you have applied to this poem. Good job!!

Nice work, I liked how it told a story of a memory but perhaps a vague memory due to alcohol. also liked the repitition, I am a fan of that in poetry.

    Well done.
