Mistake Number Two

by Nic39uy   Sep 9, 2012

Mistakes are a daily occurrence
They happen whether we know it or not
Flawlessly entwined within our life
We forgive and we learn from these mistakes.

Though there are unambiguous mistakes
Even God himself cannot forgive
Ones, that you've yet to learn from
For these are "Mistake Number Two..."

Mistakes within the heart truly hurt the most
This excruciating pain is experience by many
Though comprehending it and knowing how to express it
Proves to be something sophisticated for others

Telling her that she was the one I loved and cherished
But not fulfilling the promise to our hearts
Only half heartily giving her my love
I committed "Mistake Number One..."

A mistake, which took its toll on our friendship
Hadn't realize the dire consequences afterwards
Not only did I lose my best friend
But the one person that utterly meant the world to me.

Years passes and I've come to recognize
There are things I need in my life still
You're the one I know I couldn't walk away
And it keeps on turning and twisting me around

Here it comes again, the memories
It never ends whenever I wake up
I keep on falling further and further
I'm not sure that I can walk away now

I've recognize you're the only one in my life
That keeps me falling over and over
And your absence has been affecting me
And my heart knows it will never end

Because somewhere deep inside
I know it may be wrong
But I'm ready to commit
"Mistake Number Two"

This is an interesting write. I like how you added both "Mistake Number One" and "Mistake Number Two". Nice touch. Besides that, this is an emotional piece and it is very easy for everyone else to connect with and grasp that old feeling again. Makes your heart hurt. Great job.
