Again

by DirtRoadGirl   Sep 18, 2012

Sweet kisses are full of poison,
and tender hugs are fierce with hate.
Contradictions I am trying to deny,
but I can't escape this brutal fate.

I thought I had learned my first time around,
that broken girls are not meant to be happy.
So wrong I was and yet I let myself hope,
that this time wouldn't be nearly as crappie.

But my heart is breaking yet again,
and promises are left hanging by a limb.
A train wreck of love high on a bridge,
it plummets to the water and I cannot swim
