What You Left Me With...

You left me in the dark reaching out for the light
You once gave me hope and the desire to fight
But you left me with a broken soul that shattered
Against the floor...
And now I'm slowly trying to be cured...

You left me with troubles I had to endure
And figure out the future problems I had in store
I learned how to cope with the anguishing pain
Of life all alone that made me insane...

As the days and nights fade in an out
I could feel my heart sink like the shadows of the dark
Trying to scramble to piece back my life
I soon realized that what you left me with is
A scar that cannot be healed...

    I love the use of descriptive language that you have used to allow the reader to feel the emotions you went through and to visually see the emotions pouring and being left shattered on the floor. I find this poem very powerful in its underlying message and you captured the emotions and metaphors so well!
