This poem is so sad. It happens every day to wives and mother and fathers who receive news that their loved one has been killed. :/

Congrats on being runner up, I like what you did with the topic of "box of letters". :)

I always love reading military pieces, I myself am fond of writing them. This one just grips me so hard... just seeing her read each single letter to remind her of the memories and then the last one... one from a fellow soldier, the one he saved his life saying he will forever be in debt to him.

Very touching... great job.

I did love this poem so much, Your ending verse alone just holds a lot of power because you can see her clinging onto what she has left of him. Of the memories. This becomes her comfort and her only way to be with him again.

This is such a sad topic to chose as well which I like reading about because it is something going on a lot right now and I think if the soldiers could read some of these poems about them they would appreciate the thought.

The little story was very touching and your poetic talent made it a great read.
