Hanged

by tyler   Sep 26, 2012

A crow calls in the silence
with the long pause that follows
dips my broken heart into sorrow
as i prepare my gallow
for the morning to come

i walk slowly in my shackles
the stairs, they slowly crackle
with my weight they bough and spackle
but they hold for there master

they bag my head
shove me forward
the rope slips over
and the trap-door shudders

it only took a second
for my feet to quit twitching
and my life to finish slipping
as i slowly passed from the living.
